Generally, animals launch alarm pheromones in reaction to stress or danger, as warning signals to conspecifics. In rodents, alarm pheromones most often result in defensive and vigilance behaviors. For instance, mice responded with a major boost in behaviors which include climbing, air sampling, and rearing every time they were exposed to odors from
